Maria’s passion for nutrition started at an early age as a caretaker to her mother who has dealt with a chronic condition. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with others in order to make healthy eating a habit. She has a compassionate and gentle approach with her patients, understanding their diet struggles and overcoming any food fears. She focuses on guiding patients on how to work on their nutrition related goals step by step and how to keep consistent yet manageable goals in place.

Maria aims to take the confusion out of “diet culture” and educates patients on science-based nutrition. She focuses on helping patients build a healthy relationship with food. It is essential to have a foundation of what balanced meals should look like to achieve wellness. As a mother to three girls, she keeps a family mentality with each patient and encourages them to share their healthy eating journey with their family to reduce overall risk of disease.

Maria’s favorite food is tacos and salads. She was born in Nicaragua and understands that honoring your cultural food is essential and part of healthy eating. Her motto is “Find the JOY in eating foods and keeping a grateful mindset. Remember small steps add up over time and consistency and balance is the key.”
